I help people understand how their breathing responds to stress and develop practical skills they can use to stay composed, think clearly, and perform effectively when demands are high.
My professional background began in engineering, where I learned to approach complex problems by understanding how systems work, identifying what influences performance, and making deliberate adjustments.
Over the years, my work expanded into project management, education, and working with professionals in demanding environments. One theme kept appearing: technical knowledge alone doesn't determine how well we perform. Stress, attention, communication, and our ability to regulate ourselves can profoundly influence what happens when the stakes are high.
That led me to study breathing more deeply and eventually become a Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor.
What interested me wasn't simply the idea of “taking a deep breath.” I wanted to understand the physiology behind breathing, how breathing patterns change under stress, and how deliberate practice can help us develop more functional breathing habits. My teaching draws on functional breathing principles and my training as a Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor. Buteyko breathing has also been studied in clinical research, particularly in people with asthma.
Research in people with asthma has reported improvements in outcomes such as asthma symptoms/control and, in some studies, reduced reliever-medication use. Importantly, studies have not consistently found corresponding improvements in objective lung-function measures.
A newly published 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis of seven randomized controlled trials found that Buteyko breathing, used alongside standard care, was associated with improved asthma control overall. The authors also emphasized that the evidence remains limited and that larger trials are needed.
BigCatsBreathing brings together science, structured learning, practical application, and human performance.
Pressure is part of professional and everyday life. Important presentations will still matter. Difficult conversations will still be difficult. Decisions may still need to be made with incomplete information. Deadlines won't disappear because we learned a breathing technique. The objective isn't to eliminate every stress response.
It's to develop greater awareness and control over how you respond.
Breathing gives us something unusually practical to work with: a physiological process that changes automatically with stress, but that we can also consciously influence. I teach people to recognize changes in their breathing, regulate when necessary, and apply those skills while remaining engaged with the situation in front of them. You don't always need to step away from pressure. You can learn to operate more effectively within it.
My goal for people not to simply memorize breathing exercises but to understand why they're doing them, what they're noticing, and when to use them.
Learn how breathing patterns interact with stress, attention, recovery, sleep, and performance.
Develop practical breathing skills through guided exercises and deliberate repetition.
Apply these skills during presentations, meetings, important decisions, and difficult conversations.
Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor
Training in functional breathing, breathing-pattern assessment, and practical application of the Buteyko Method.
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
An analytical and systems-oriented background that shapes how I approach physiology, learning, and practical problem-solving.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Professional experience in complex, high-pressure environments where communication, prioritization, decision-making, and performance matter.
My professional background includes developing and delivering technical learning programs, facilitating workshops, and working with professionals in demanding environments. I bring that experience into breathing education with one goal: making the science practical enough to use in real life.
I work with people and organizations looking for practical ways to improve how they respond to stress and perform under pressure.
